Lake Eyre Scenic Flight
A great view from the top
Lake Eyre is Australia's biggest inland lake and one of the world's biggest salt pans. When it floods, the spectacle across the region is truly unique. The view is best appreciated from above, on-board a scenic flight.
This is the third year in a row that floodwaters have reached Lake Eyre, where shimmering water and sky seem to merge together. The surrounding desert springs to life in full, vibrant colour and birds flock to the area.
See more with a package tour
Many different tour operators offer scenic flights, locally and from Adelaide.
A range of packages are also available, combining accommodation with ground tours and highlights of the Flinders Ranges and outback. While it’s the natural marvels of colour and life that draw most visitors, the local William Creek Hotel has also become an iconic spot. Enjoy a cold beer in a real country pub, in the state’s smallest town.
